Here's what some of our residents are saying...
“Before we went to a nursing home we checked all of them around here and found out that St. Mary was the best. We, my wife and I, have both been happy we chose St. Mary.”
- Joseph S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“You get a lot better service here and the people are a lot friendlier than someplace else. The staff acts like they care about you. Sometimes the staff even does things without you asking them because they know you so well. Even the residents wave when they don’t know you.”
- Ron F., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“One of the best decisions I made was to come to St. Mary Healthcare Center a little over four years ago.”
- Frances B., resident for 4 years
“The main thing at St. Mary is the staff is good and it is a loving place.”
- Nadine S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“St. Mary is a great place to call home. All the necessities of life are taken care of – meals, house cleaning, laundry, etc. The entire staff is courteous and loving.”
- Virginia A., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“If I had a friend who needed to go to a nursing home I would tell them to come to St. Mary because you can have the things the way you want them and people are nice to you here. The activities we have make me happy to be here. The meals are just what you really want. If you ask for certain foods they will get them for you. If you need something they will help you by telling you where it is or getting it for you.”
- Joseph S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“Although I would like to name those who are so wonderful in their work and care, it is impossible as there are so many.”
- Frances B., resident for 4 years
“Therapy keeps us moving and we improve our capabilities.”
- Virginia A., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“I can’t think of anything that would make me want to move to another nursing home, not even a private room.”
- Ron F., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“My health is taken care of and I have the privileges here as at home. There is no nursing home smell – it is clean and the residents are not all sitting in a cluster with nothing to do. We have a variety of activities available all the time to participate in.”
- Nadine S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“We have Mass and I go everyday. When I miss it, because of an appointment, I wish I could have gone but I still get communion from our chaplain.”
- Joseph S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“Here I’ve found physical care, many new friends and the stimulation of activities and therapy. Most of all, I have an opportunity to draw closer to my God in daily Mass, Bible study, etc.”
- Frances B., resident for 4 years
“A big advantage is my husband and I are here together. I enjoy my family and its companionship. I appreciate the courtesy given to me.”
- Nadine S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“We do activities in groups, including bingo, entertainment, theme parties and have the freedom to do our own interests such as computers, sewing, piano, crafts and more. We have freedom to worship per our beliefs and there is daily Mass and a weekly interdenominational church service with ministers from various churches.”
- Virginia A., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“On the rare occasions when I leave St. Mary I always return with a warm feeling of ‘Coming Home.’”
- Frances B., resident for 4 years
“If I had the chance to say something to the staff I would tell them that they are doing a really good job here.”
- Joseph S., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“St. Mary Healthcare Center is a community where I’m a part of its family. I can’t find the words to tell you how much I appreciate it. When at St. Mary, I’m home.”
- Virginia A., resident at St. Mary Healthcare Center
“Our family would like to thank all the staff at your facility for all the care they gave to our mother/grandmother during her stay.
When we were first approached with the idea of having to place her in a nursing home we were devastated. We made visits to several nursing homes. After about three visits we stopped at St. Mary’s and were greeted by Mike. He took the time to show us around and as we were leaving, the last thing he said to us was to visit a few more and go with what our heart was telling us. That was what we did. We chose St. Mary.
The first week we left every night wondering if she would be cared for. It only took a couple weeks before we came to realize that the staff at your facility truly cares for its patients and tends to their needs. We visited often and at different times of days and never once did we find her not taken care of.
Lois grew close to several of the aides and nurses and would tell us every day how much the aides and nurses would joke with her and check on her. What a relief to our family.
All of you have changed our opinion on nursing homes. The staff at St. Mary’s should be praised for their love, support and hard work that they give to all the patients. There are no words to express how grateful we are to everyone there for taking such good care of Lois. All of you are truly special people. Your hard work is so much appreciated. We are now blessed to have Lois back home with us. This is all due to the therapy she received and all the love of your staff. Thank you again. We would recommend St. Mary’s to anyone who is in need of long- or short-term care.”
- The family of former resident Lois F.
